Спустя более 20 лет после выхода, первый полноформатный альбом "DARKSIDE" от легендарной португальской death metal группы Sacred Sin будет переиздан силами трёх лейблов! CD будет включать 8-страничный буклет с новым дизайном, бонус трек от 1994 года и новый ремастированный звук, сведённый в этом году. Также этот альбом посвящён памяти великого художника Ганса Рудольфа Гигера.
After more than 20 years after its release, the first full-length album "DARKSIDE" from the legendary Portuguese death metal band Sacred Sin will be re-released by the three labels! The CD will include an 8-page booklet with a new design, a bonus track from 1994 and a new remastered sound, mixed by this year. Also, this album is dedicated to the memory of Hans Rudolf Giger.
SACRED SIN was formed in the summer of '91, in October the band recorded their first tape. In September '92 the band recorded 4 new tracks for a EP & start touring activity. In the spring of '93 and due to the interest of Musica Alternativa the band entered Edit studios with sound engineer Jorge Adónis and recorded the fabulous album "Darkside". In April '95 the band went into the studio again to record "Eye M God". During June they support Tiamat, Samael & Sentenced. To promote the new album they toured Europe during December supporting Malevolent Creation & Vader... In June '98 the band go to Exit studio to record «Anguish I Harvest». In March the band starts touring activities in Portugal, and supported Entombed in April. In June the tour follows in Spain and more shows in Portugal. In the Summer the band appears at some major Festival in their country with bands like Manowar, Napalm Death, Paradise Lost. During November they join Primordial for a tour in Portugal and Spain to finish a year of intense touring. In June 2000 they come back for more shows in Portugal, Spain and Belgium. For the Halloween 2000 the band goes back on the road for the 2nd part of «Anguish the Tour», playing more shows in Portugal, Spain, Belgium and Germany. In December start the recordings at their own new studio the 13th Cave. The album «Translucid Dream Mirror» is released in 2000. Since October 2001, the band has a new drummer, Rolando Barros. With him the band toured in Belgium, France, Spain and Portugal during November. In 2002 the band was writing new songs. The new album «Hekatón - The Return To Primordial Chaos», the fifth full-length release so far, was recorded during March and April, again at the 13th Cave, the bands own studio, the mixing took place during Summer. Touring from October to December 2005 in Portugal, Spain, France, Germany, Belgium. Sacred Sin is back in 2006, recording new release "Dawn Over Desolation", announced for early 2007. After a break of few months, due to personnal reasons and health problems, the band is working on new songs for recording at the 13th Сave, the bands home-studio. Also the band decided to make this years the last for Sacred Sin as «active» live band. These will be their last shows, as tribute to the fans and friends, a last goodbye & thanks to all for the support!

Written by Dico about album: «Welcome to the Darkside. Following the impact that The Shades Behind EP had on the European market, the recording of a full album was the next logical step in the career of Sacred Sin. In '92, during their very first year of existence, this quintet was one of the most popular bands to play live in Portugal. After several changes in the drummer position, I eventually joined the band in August '92. Two months later, we entered Edit Studios, where we recorded Darkside with our producer Ramiro Martins. We recorded the drum tracks for 19 hours straight, during which I still rehearsed the parts that I did not know by heart yet. The impressive sound of Tó Pica's guitar, which is still highly praised today, was achieved by using a Marshall 10W amplifier with all settings on maximum. A simple stack of CVA bass loudspeakers ruthlessly spewed that brutal, yet clean and melodic sound that quickly became a trademark of the album. Darkside was released in June '93 and was innovative on several levels. On the one hand, the band perfectly merged aggression and melody with dominant keyboards in their sound, thereby producing something unheard of in Portugal until then. Also this was the first album ever of a Portuguese metal band to be released on CD. Darkside was re-released in '94, this time remastered and with an improved layout and previously unpublished photos. The band played several gigs in Portugal at this time. Opening for Napalm Death, Manowar, Sinister (already with J. Marques instead of me) was a special experience. But above all, Sacred Sin made history by being the first Lusitanian band ever to be given airtime on MTV. Vanessa Warwick, the presenter of "Headbangers Ball", invited the band to record a video clip. So did the quintet and the clip for their title song was ready to conquer the world. This appearance boosted the band's career significantly and they were the first Portuguese metal band to become known on an international level. To this day, Darkside is still considered one of the classic European Death Metal albums. Listening to Darkside is always a pleasure, but this commemorative edition to celebrate the 20-year anniversary of its release, is a special treat. Darkside has always been one heavy monster of aggression, but not until today did the neighbours of fans of Sacred Sin truly have a reason to hate them...»
