Группа образовалась в 1995 году в Финляндии как проект Агатона, который хотел создавать музыку на своих собственных условиях. The band started in 1995 in Finland as a one-man-band by Agathon’s will to make music in his own terms. In addition to horror film soundtracks, the biggest inspiration for Agathon has always been the dark life itself. As the music evolved, Agathon decided it’s time to gather a full band around him... Hellhouse Records 666 will release a memorial album in June in collaboration with Satanath Records, Black Plague Records and Pagan Fury Records in memory of Gloomy Grim skipper Agathon alias Ykä, who was also known from Airdash, Soulgrind, Thy Serpent, Corporal Punishment and many other more or less metal bands. Agathon passed away from cancer in 2022 and based on that, it was clear to the band's fans that some memorial gig would be organized. However, the work started to be made to make the first tribute album where Ykä's old bands and bands of relatives cover Gloomy Grim. Barathrum, IGIGI, Unnamed Grave, Walhalla, Astral Corpse, Soulgrind, Flesh, Wotem MF, St. Petrov and Gloomy Grim were included, who re-recorded the song "Born in Fire" by the members of 2016-2021. Agathon's plot was handled by the band's last drummer Agitator. The album will be released by Satanath Records, which was also Gloomy Grim's final record label. "Gloomy & Grim: A Tribute to Agathon" will be released on June 6, 2026, which would be Ykä's 58th birthday and the 30th anniversary of the release of Gloomy Grim's first demo. A memorial concert will be held at the Hellsinki Metal Festival's See You In Hell club Bar Loose on August 6, 2026. The regiment, assembled from the last two Gloomy Grim lineups, will be seen there, along with a few guests... With these words Gloomy Grim is buried with its father Agathon. From the first demo released in 6.6.1996 to this tribute album to be released in 6.6.2026 this was the 30 years story of GLOOMY GRIM. All the albums and EP's can be found on CD and internet. R.I.P. • BARATHRUM is doomy black metal from Hellsinki. One of Finland's first BM bands formed by Demonos Sova in 1991. Agathon played drums for Barathrum from 2007 to 2010. Also Nukklear Tormentörr on bass since 2000.

• WOTEM MF is band from Finland. From the start in 2017 to his death Agathon played drums in this Micko Hell's leading hard rock/heavy metal band. In this recording on drums the legendary Otto from Rytmihäiriö and many other bands.

• WALHALLA is famous band. Lord Heikkinen formed Walhalla back in the 90's and made a demo which lead to debut album "Firereich" in 2000 and after all the band continued in 2020's and released "Released the beast" in 2023. Agathon playing drums on both albums.

• SOULGRIND is another band formed by Lord in the early 90's which is about to release it's 10th album this year. Again Agathon on drums from 1997 to his death in 2022.

• ST. PETROV is a project from Micko Hell to put all extra strength and energy. The name "St. Petrov" is an ode to another childhood hero Lars Göran Petrov from Entombed. Along with Atoni on bass and programming, Hell creates noise to the world some more. This song is originally a demo riffs written by Agathon for Gloomy Grim which was now completed and written by St. Petrov to finish.

• GLOOMY GRIM (2026)... The idea was to record something old or something new with the surviving members of Gloomy Grim. So band decided to record "Born in Fire" with the original keyboard parts by Agathon from the past and the rest of instruments are done in 2025. Agitator took the role of Agathon providing vocals while Hell, Lord, Tormentörr and Suntio played the rest. The background vocals has many close friends of Agathon and Gloomy Grim...
