Along with their debut, Colombian Brutal Death Metal band Internal Suffering’s album “Unmercyful Extermination” is also re-released, so it shall be reviewed.
This album has no stylistic difference to their debut, it includes the same amount of brutality, maybe slightly better recorded. With the repetitive violence so common in the genre, they once again deliver some decent Brutal Death Metal, and together with this album, you also have their songs from the split with Inducting Terror and 2 live songs from their 2004 Brutal Domination Tour. With this, you can hear how their chaotic music in fact wins much more power played live.
It may be tiring to listen to the whole album if you’re not into the genre, but a couple of songs may be fun to hear, and in this case the highlights may be “Outside Dwellers” and “Valley Of The Impaled”. The brutality of their music is perfectly portrayed in each of their songs, with not a single bit of rest.
I recommend this album if you enjoy Brutal Death Metal, it is a perfectly common and good album of the style.

Incidentally INTERNAL SUFFERING are for sure a candidate for the most boring Death Metal band logo of all times. Their latest full-length is already four years old, but unfortunately this is not a new one. Although I missed “Cyclonic Void Of Power” in 2016, in retrospective that album is one hell of of a technical brutal Death Metal album. Now Satanath Records in co-operation with Rotten Roll Records are re-releasing the EP “Unmercyful Extermination” with a remastered sound. In the first place spawned 2001 by Macabre Mementos Records it already showed the skills of the band. Of course not at the heights of the later works, the ultra deep guttural grunting vocals are a bit too one-dimensional for my taste. The drum sound comes along a bit hollow and plastic and tempo-wise it is fast-forward all the time. But dammit, even after nearly 20 years the title keeps its promise. So thumbs up to this point. But re-releases are always a tricky affair. Because during the last 20 years the EP has been reissued two times on CD. So honestly I do not know if there is really a need for another version. Selling points are four songs originally released on a split album release with INDUCING TERROR from 2005 and just two tracks from the DVD recorded during the Brutal Domination tour in 2004. Having in mind the featured live set by INTERNAL SUFFERING on this DVD has a running time of 30 minutes the two songs (six minutes) on this release only represent one fifth of the whole live recording. But enough of this petty nit-picking. Brutal Death Metal fans in general and BRODEQUIN fans in particular not common with the band should unquestionably take a listen. And followers of the quintet, which in the meantime moved from Columbia with a stopover in New York to Spain, who are missing this EP in their collection are going to buy this output anyway.

Если про первый диск INTERNAL SUFFERING от Satanath Records я подробно (и немного про сцену задел) писал в рубрике «История death metal”, то про этот придется, так сказать, на общих основаниях, ибо он вышел в новом тысячелетии - в 2001 году. Этот EP появился после первого альбома колумбийских мега-звезд. И снабжен еще шестью дополнительными трэками на потребу самой взыскательной брутал дэт публики. Потому что это Technical Brutal Death Metal.
Надо подчеркнуть что Satanath Records выпустил этот компакт совместно с лейблом Rotten Roll Rex (Германия). И то, что это ремастированный материал.
Фактически этот компакт INTERNAL SUFFERING разделен на три неравные части, которые и послушаем с приличествующим вниманием и тщанием. Что будет в принципе легко - такое муЗЛО НЕвнимательно слушать НЕ возможно.
Часть первая - собственно ЕР «Unmercyful Extermination». Брутал дэтовый забой в лучших традициях стилистики, бешеный ураган на 6 трэков, где цифра 6 символизирует несколько подходов к тому, чтобы прагматически переломить любую ситуацию в свою пользу. Включайте везде INTERNAL SUFFERING, будьте промоутерами ультра-тяжелого жанра, насколько это вам удастся - посмотрим!
Шестерка переполнена низкочастотными гитарами, которые, кажется, напрямую выдавливают мозги через уши у неподготовленных и не обученных солдат(зачеркнуто) меломанов. На самом деле, Fabio Matrin - это такой вокалист, который еще бы спел ниже своим гуттуралом, да уже некуда, и к тому же он еще модулирует и давит эмоцией. А спрашивается, откуда эмоции могут быть с другой стороны травы? Все два струнника: и гитарист, и басист в сотрудничестве с драммером будто изображают неистовые взрывы на складах с оружием, которые спланировал подземный самый главный музыкант. Ибо среди этого динамического хаоса INTERNAL SUFFERING есть и цикл, и ритм, и потаенный смысл.

Tracks 07-10: со сплита со штатовской Technical Death Metal группой INDUCING TERROR (2005). Заметно, что здесь немного другой саунд, но мега-идеи, сверх-тяжесть воплощения все так же на первом месте. И тут - в рамках это компакта - понимаешь концепт INTERNAL SUFFERING — потому что это уже антология — где можно прослеживать течение композиторской мысли и группового творчества. Да и ценность подхода колумбийцев.
Tracks 11-12: from DVD "Brutal Domination Tour" (2005). Это ливы того же 2005 года, которые аудиально представляют нам тот апокалиптический ужас и террор, что команда живописует на сцене. Я думаю, такие вещи нужно публиковать каждой группе в финале компакта – дабы верифицировать себя как исполнителей.
Весьма рекомендуется высокое качество материала (flac, wav, диск), потому что низкие частоты здесь в прямом смысле рулят. И, весьма вероятно, в мпз завалят остальную частотку.

This is a re-release of the Colombians' 2001 six-song EP. Bonuses are included and they are the band's four songs on the 2005 split with Inducing Terror and two further live songs from 2005's Brutal Domination DVD. The title track is first after a brief intro. The band is clearly of the brutal death metal ilk. Suffocation, Cannibal Corpse and others taken literally with deep vocals and no nonsense metal make up the relatively short opener. Dominating Thunderous Force is a song title that presents the style as well as any. It is not distinguishable from the opener as it moves along quickly. Fabio Marin tries his best to outdo what other death metal vocalists have or had done. It is simply impossible to discern any of the lyrics. In some verses it is as if Marin is barking. Breeders Of Chaos is even shorter and more to the point. Outside Dwellers is a more clear reminder of Suffocation. Catacombs Devourer confirms the similarity in more than just the music. Decapitation Of The Weak presents the same production that would be typically expected and was heard in many of the releases of the same era. The drum sound is not the best and the overall production is limited. The split songs with Inducing Terror start with Valley Of The Impaled. There is little variation and the band had stayed true to the death metal sound. The drums seem hollower but that has as much to do with the clearer production than anything else. Summoning The Ancient Ones, Unmercyful Extermination and Vatican Bombardment are the other songs before the aforementioned live songs. Colossal Vortx and Vatican Bombardment were recorded live in 2004.

On ”Unmercyful Extermination” you get much more of the same thing you got on the debut. But this time it feels that the band has taken steps on the evolutionary stairs. This one feels a bit more matured. It is still brutal death metal the US way and with growls from the deepest pit of hell. The song writing on this one feels like it is going in the right direction. If you don’t know of the band, or you know of them but have not their records this is the time to get them!
Удивительно, но мною подмечен тот факт, что на классику того или иного жанра рецензии писать куда сложнее, чем на новые релизы! С одной стороны, паханное поле легче возделывать, чем нетронутую целину. А с другой – что нового можно сказать, к примеру, про классические произведения Достоевского, Грибоедова, Толстого и т.д.? Ну вы поняли суть!
Сегодня мы имеем дело с релизом группы, которая фактически наряду с флоридским и шведским дэтом открыла новую ветвь этого жанра, а именно, колумбийскую! Думаю, многие если и не сто процентов догадались, о какой группе идет речь, то уж точно среди прочих прокручивали это название в голове! Речь идет о легендарном дебютном альбоме INTERNAL SUFFERING под названием «Supreme Knowledge Domain» 2000 года выпуска!
По традиции начнем с обложки. На ней мы видим идущих дружным строем по сумеречному лесу к месту проведения очередного ритуала служителей некоего тайного и, скорее всего, темного культа! Ну вряд ли бы мужики стали так шифроваться, реши они просто попить пивка на природе в пятницу вечером. В общем и целом, обложка добротная, а уж для дебюта никому не известной на тот момент группы и подавно!
От фантика переходим к самой конфетке. Поначалу для неподготовленного слушателя звук кажется грязноватым и слегка режущим слух. Но проходит пара-тройка минут, и все встает на свои места. Звук уже перестает казаться грязным (или на это перестаешь обращать внимание), и остается то, чем собственно и прославится в дальнейшем этот коллектив, а именно – гипертехничность, помноженная на овербрутальность! Именно эти 2 слова приходят мне на ум, когда я ставлю в проигрыватель данный альбом! Тут мы имеем частые смены ритма, пулеметную стрельбу бласт-битами, скудный как растительность в степях Монголии мелодизм (его количество строго дозировано рамками жанра) и сверхнизкий и внутриутробный гроулинг! Пластинка содержит все, что любит в такой музыке ее среднестатистический фэн и даже больше! Музыкальное полотно не сливается в один скучный монотонный долбеж, а наоборот, пестрит вышеупомянутыми сменами ритма, мелодий, сокрушающим жирным звуком с необходимой «грязинкой» и невероятной тяжеловесностью! Как было сказано выше, данный релиз стал одним из определяющих ориентиров колумбийской школы дэт-металла, а группа INTERNAL SUFFERING – одним из ее столпов!
Альбом рекомендуется в первую очередь, конечно же, фанатам самих INTERNAL SUFFERING и монстров жанра, таких как, AMPUTATED GENITALS, DISGORGE (USA/ MEX), BRODEQUIN и всем любителям прочего скоростного брутального дэта! Так что, хватит читать эту писанину, пока врубать диск в проигрыватель и радовать себя и соседей своим отличным музыкальным вкусом!

I`m freshly after reviewing their debut album Supreme Knowledge Domain, so,let this brutal vibe going on... Unmercyful Extermination is the EP from 2001 and this band just has been re-releasing their music over and over. As it was before, album was just released by labels Satanath and Rotten Roll Rex with extra songs added to the track list from other releases. Let`s get into it...
Tracks 1-6 - Unmercyful Extermination were re-mastered (I heard original release) and this newer sound quality is much better, louder now. Drums and guitars are tightened up so the music sound sharper and more to the point than on the first album for instance. This band doesn't know the word compromise for their music, so in the name of brutality (literally it's all in their music) they just destroy everything in their path with blast beats and hostile guitar riffs.
Tracks 7-10 were taken from the 2005 split and it`s the best material I`ve heard from the band so far. They recorded those songs in North America (in the meantime they changed drummer again!) and now, Internal Suffering sound like a serial blasts of atomic bombs (they do not chase for perfection in music or best sound). Drums are tuned with higher tone which I like and a drummer plays with certain accents in music as fast as a possible which sound pretty cool if you focus on his play. Vocals are not just brutal now but kind of torturous (not literally, but hey, check out eight song, this is how you take vocal growls to its boundaries in death metal-great!). Guitar sound is now more powerful (finally!) and this time their song-writing took more technical approach here, the songs are better written and go beyond brutality where obliteration begins.
Last 2 tracks are live songs. Very rough and bad quality of the recording brings nothing but chaos. Eventually, you can just get a glimpse of how they sound when playing live...but a guy behind a console there, he surely did not know how to set up their sound and he just screwed it up...
Recommend tracks - 7-10, also the first part of this compilation should be satisfying for die-hard brutal death metal fans out there looking for ways to get wasted.
Well, with this latest compilation CD all the early materials of Internal Suffering have been successfully wrapped in a new shape. The disc starts with the six songs of the "Unmercyful Extermination" EP (2001). It is a very well-structured EP, which has been supported by a rather sick sounding production. The over 18 minutes long EP is filled with ultra-deep guttural patterns, ripping guitar parts, low end bass lines and pretty chaotic drum fills. It is followed by four songs taken from the 2005 split release with Inducing Terror. And it means, you are going to be treated by eleven more minutes of sophisticated brutality. For the end of the CD there has been two special live tracks reserved off the famous "Brutal Domination" DVD (2005). The compact disc itself comes with a superb pit-art graphic, while the booklet has 8 pages, where you can find all the lyrics to the "Unmercyful Extermination" EP, two band photos from 2003 and all the details about the aforementioned recordings. The whole material was remastered in 2020 by Digivision Records from Belarus. So feel free to enjoy the brutal sonic extermination!!!

Vuosi 2020 ei ollut vain pandemian alku, mutta myös Internal Sufferingin uusintajulkaisujen vuosi! Yhtyeen 1999 debyytti “Supreme Knowledge Domain” julkaistiin myös uudelleen, minkä Metalliluolan arvostelun voi lukea tästä.
Nyt syynissä on vuonna 2001 alunperin julkaistu EP “Unmercyful Extermination”. sisältäen kuusi biisiä brutaalia death metalia siinä puhtaimmassa formaatissaan, eli homman nimi on SLAM. Toki ei siinä vielä kaikki, sillä mukaan on laitettu täytteeksi kuusi bonusraitaa, joista kaksi on vuoden 2004 live-vetoja. Kyllä nyt siis kelpaa! Vai kelpaako sittenkään?
Aloitetaan levyn monitasoinen purkaminen positiivisista puolista: varsinaisissa kuudessa biisissä on paremmat soundit kuin edellä mainitulla debyytillä. Siinä ne hyvät puolet sitten olivat.
Albumi on muuten tismalleen sitä samaa monotonista slam-kaahaamista alusta loppuun ilman koukkuja, nyansseja tai mitään muutakaan turhaa. Eli samat asiat vaivaa kuin debyytin kanssa.
