Nå om dagen virker som om thrashen er tilbake for fullt i Oslo. Ikke at det er noe stort minus og jeg venter ikke akkurat med spenning på et nytt black metal band fra Norge dukker opp. Det har dukket opp mye drittband i siste halvdel av 2000-tallet som spiller norsk, «oldschool», black metal. I resten av Norge ser det ut til at metal core begynner å dominere mer og mer.
Men da man trudde at black metal «scenen» stod stille, dukket Svarthaueg opp fra undergrunnen. De er snart ute med sin debut-skive «drakonsk magi». I mellomtiden får vi nøye oss med EP`en Ritual. Svarthaueg spiller oldschool black metal av type, tidlig 90-tallet.
På denne utgivelsen finner du mørke, brutalitet og okkultisme i en god blanding. De sier selv at de ikke har noen konkrete inspirasjonskilder men jeg man kan trekke paraleller til bla. 1349 og Gorgoroth. Og en liten dose mayhem på den siste låten. Selv synes jeg de fungerer best live og dette kunne godt vært litt mer skittent for min del.
Uansett, om du er fan av aggressiv, okkult black metal er Svarthaueg verdt å sjekke ut. Dette er et ungt og lovede band og vi kan vente i spenning på fullengderen som er like rundt hjørnet.

Tutaj panuje smrod piekla i siary, widac ze traktuja oni czarcia sztuke na powaznie zreszta pochodzenie zobowiazuje! "Black Goddess" to cios prosto w nazarenskie scierwo, satanistyczny hymn przy ktorym mam ochote palic, gwalcic i pladrowac! Nie inaczej jest przy trzech pozostalych walkach "Balam", "Evoke" (ten walek kurwa niszczy przypomina to nasz nieodzalowany Thunderbolt!) czy "Enter Chaos" to klasyczne przyklady na to jak powinno sie napierdalac klasyczny norweski black metal! Zly, saczacy jad wokal, palker napierdalajacy tak jakby ukradkiem zdupcyl prosto z piekla i chcial zdemolowac jak najwiecej osrodkow zycia, wszystko tu chodzi tak jak powinno, nie ma do czego sie tu dojebac, to mini chloszcze dupsko az milo i do tego ta duszna, a zarazem zimna atmosfera krazka! 555/666

Il n'y a pas si longtemps, Svarthaueg faisait vibrer Oslo lors de la sortie de "Ritual", le premier EP du groupe signé chez Satanath Records, label russe qui a déjà fait ses preuves avec la production de Wampyric Bloodlust, Dieses ou encore Vistery.
Avec "Balam", nos amis norvégiens Defest, M, Adramelech et Svarthaueg attaquent très fort "Ritual". Les premières notes nous laissent imaginer que l'ensemble de l'EP sera à la hauteur de nos attentes. Car il faut avouer que le groupe avait fait attendre son auditoire pendant plusieurs mois à travers les réseaux sociaux. Ici, il n'y a pas de temps mort, les rythmes sont surpuissants et soignés. La production générale est plus que correcte et les parties vocales d'Adramelech amènent une présence malsaine qui, dans ce contexte musical, est plus que bienvenue.
Le groupe a tout de même attendu sept années avant de sortir cette première oeuvre mais, comme le dit si bien l'adage, tout vient à point à qui sait attendre !
Que ce soit au niveau de la construction des chansons, des rythmes alternatifs ou encore de la tonalité générale des instruments, les quatre pistes de "Ritual" se ressemblent, ce qui est tout de même dommage car il n'y a pas véritablement de recherches sonores. Le groupe nous livre sa musique sous forme brute. Peut-être est-ce là l'effet escompté par Svarthaueg.
Des influences intéressantes...
Sous certains angles, "Ritual" pourrait se définir comme une chanson scindée en quatre actes et donne parfois l'impression à l'auditeur de se trouver en plein milieu d'une répétition de Svarthaueg. A l'écoute de "Evoke" et sa marche quasi militaire ou "Enter Chaos", les amateurs du genre apprécieront certaines mélodies jouées à la guitare qui ne sont pas sans rappeler celles mises en avant par des groupes tels que Myrkskog, Belphegor ou encore Asmodeus.
Nos amis de Svarthaueg auraient probablement pu exploiter davantage la carte sentimentale qui finalement, n'apparaît que succinctement dans cet opus. Un exercice un peu court mais qui dans l'ensemble, se veut assez bien réussi et homogène. Ce dernier permet de plus à Adramelech de sortir véritablement de l'ombre et de mettre à disposition ses talents sur "Djevelens Evangelie", le troisième album de Dødsfall qui sortira le 30 Août 2013.
Svarthaueg are a band from Norway that plays a very raw form of occult black metal and this is a review of their 2012 ep "Ritual" which was released by Satanath Records.
A very heavy, fast and raw black metal sound starts off the ep along with a great amount of blast beats and high pitched screams and after awhile the songs start bringing in a great mixture of slow, mid paced and fast parts while the vocals also have their angry yet grim moments and the riffs also use a great amount of tremolo picking.
At times the vocals can be very depressive and the riffs also bring in melodies at times while you can also hear all of the musical instruments that are present on the recording and the music goes back to the mid 90's style of fast black metal as well as bringing back to the chaos that was present in that era and the last track also brings in a brief use of melodic guitar eladsEnter Chaos" and "Evoke". 8 out of 10..
Svarthaueg plays a style of black metal that is very fast and raw in the mid 90's tradition and they keep everything in a very chaotic musical direction, the production sounds very raw yet powerful at the same time while the lyrics cover Occultism themes.
In my opinion Svarthaeueg are a very great sounding fast and raw occult black metal band and if you are a fan of this musical genre, you should check out this ep. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "

Gli Svarthaueg, band norvegese creata dall'omonimo chitarrista, è un gruppo che alimenta la scena underground con la loro presenza nel campo dal 2005 ai giorni d'oggi.
Propongono un sound fedele alla linea dei padri fondatori del true norvegian black metal, quindi stiamo parlando della canonicità di Darkthrone (in primis), Gorgoroth, Emperor e compagnia bella... Possiamo subito dire, alla luce dei fatti, che non sorge niente di nuovo all' orizzonte, anche se qualche elemento di spicco emerge in questo EP (titolato "Ritual" e datato 2012), tanto che la prolifera Satanath Record li ha messi sotto la loro ala protettiva.
Nella line up del combo norvegese spicca la figura di Adramalech, talentuoso cantante che militava negli ottimi conterranei Dodsfall : è ottima la sua performance in questo EP, il suo scream bestiale contribuisce a rendere il disco costantemente con un alone maligno e oscuro. Fa piacere anche sapere che sono abbastanza attivi in sede live e piano piano si stanno facendo un nome anche fuori dai confini della terra dei fiordi.
Tuttavia bisogna dire che gli Svarthaueg dovrebbero dare al loro "chaotic black metal" un tocco di personalità : è questo che manca alla band, qualcosa nel loro stile che li possa collocare su un gradino più alto all'interno della scala gerarchica della scena... sono una band giovane che può fare della loro dedizione e passione per le arti nere una rampa di lancio verso la notorietà, l'importante è che devono crederci, dal momento che le basi ci sono tutte.
Concludo dicendo che, i puristi del genere, possono dare un ascolto a questo "Ritual" senza troppi problemi; di conseguenza, però, non posso consigliarlo a coloro che cercano l'innovazione, perchè qui non c'è ne è affatto.
