Amezarak (aka Амезарак) were formed by Viktor ‘Lord Dead’ Medvedev in 2010 in the city of Zlatoust (close to the border with Kazakhstan), after the activities in Barathron came to an end. They did release three albums before: Pитуал (2012, via Musica Production), Angelus (2012, their debut on Satanath Records), and Spring Non Veniet… (2013, also via their current label, in co-operation with Metallic Media and Metal Throne Productions). Daemonolatreia is the fourth full length, composed entirely by Lord Dead, and created with a helping hand of Morokh’s Lord Ghost (who was part of Barathron too), who wrote the lyrics for this album.
Daemonolatreia (duration: fifty minutes) starts with the sound of crickets, wolves and wind, I think, but very soon specific guitar melody shows up, having my thought dwell to times of victorious and epic grotesquery. I admit, this is an introduction that says nothing specific, but if you listen to this part, you will agree. Anyway, this first song, ΠyTъ B MncTuчeckий зkcTaз (I know I’m screwing up my Russian language, hehe…), and it goes for the better part on this album, stands for a very grim, unpolished form of rather traditional Satanic Black Metal, focusing on splendid melody lines and energetic rhythms. The tempo is mainly fast, and I mean ‘fast’, without losing itself in useless, exaggerated blasting nonsense, while the all-round atmosphere combines elements from the Nordic scene, epic glory, and warlike power, including the fierce taking-no-prisoners-mentality.
There are little details that one can call renewing. There is no reason to do so either, I think. The quality of the songs created by Amezarak if of a very satisfying height. I can’t speak about the lyrics (in the band’s native tongue, so I have no idea whether these deal with weekly church-visits or multi-cultural acceptance; or something else instead?), but let the totality grab you when listening to it. Enjoy the fabulous sound, underground-minded and lacking of modernism. Just imagine another fantastic efforts available with the grace of Satanath… But… one remark needs to be said, and that’s the fact that many of these tracks sound too much alike. The tempo, the riffing, the vocal outbursts; more than once I have the impression I just heard the same track before; or at least a part of it. Bit seen the splendid quality, it is not insurmountable. Let’s give the result the benefit of doubt…

Les chroniques les plus lues, sur n’importe quel webzine, sont celles qui parlent de groupes connus. C’est normal puisqu’on a toujours envie de savoir si les chroniqueurs partagent ou non notre opinion sur un skeud qu’on a écouté. C’est ainsi même si parfois j’aimerais que ce soit l’inverse et que les albums inconnus attirent plus le lecteur. Car ce qui me motive avant tout, c’est l’envie de faire découvrir des formations et de guider les curieux vers des sons qui pourraient leur plaire. L’underground n’est pas la file d’attente du pauvre et je m’attarde alors fréquemment sur des groupes qui ne finissent chroniqués en français que dans nos pages. Et j'imagine qu'il sera compliqué de trouver le nom d’Амезарак, qui se lit en fait Amezarak, ailleurs qu’ici. Il s'agit d'un one man’s band russe, tenu par un nommé Lord Dead particulièrement productif puisqu’il signe là, en 2014, son quatrième album en trois ans ! Mais si l’homme s’occupe aussi bien des instruments que des vocaux, il est tout de même aidé d’un ami parolier, présenté comme Lord Ghost : « All texts taken from the black Bible Lord Ghost ».
Lord Dead est cependant le compositeur et il a toute la liberté de jouer ce qu’il aime. Et ce qu’il aime, c’est le black metal survitaminé, très influencé par les vieux GORGOROTH. il en reproduit la rythmique entraînante et les ambiances démoniaques mais aussi et surtout les vocaux stridents. Ceux-ci devraient d’ailleurs en agacer beaucoup... Personnellement j’adore, je les trouve très expressifs. GORGOROTH inside donc, mais avec des mélodies plus généreuses, plus envolées. Chaque titre contient des riffs éclairés utilisés certes un peu trop en boucle, mais d’une efficacité certaine, qui ravira les amoureux du black à mélodies. L’originalité ? Non, ça y'a pas. Ou alors quelques influences heavy dans les mélodies, mais comme la production propose un son étouffé, les ambiances restent sagement blackellisé.
Il ne faut pas s’attendre à une pépite merveilleuse, mais à un album de passionné qui parvient à transmettre ses émotions et sa dévotion durant 9 morceaux et 50 minutes très égales. Un titre sort cependant du lot et est parvenu à me faire user la touche replay, c’est la septième piste, « Стань злом ». Elle se traduit par « Soyez le Mal », mais c’est elle qui fait très mal. Avec un tempo plus lent sur sa première moitié, elle balance des effets de guitare excellents sur la deuxième pour une fin en apothéose et un moment de jouissance extrême, transcendant. Raaah, ça tue. Le dernier morceau, « Исход » (Exode) joue aussi avec cet enchaînement mid-tempo / accélération, toujours maîtrisé, toujours efficace, toujours sans prétention.
Rage, mélodies, nostalgie, agressivité, le cocktail est bon. Dans la famille des groupes qui respectent un style sans rien chambouler, voici Амезарак. Du trve black mélodique plaisant qui s’écoute sans modération et qui atteint le haut du panier.
This is Amezarak's fourth black metal release to date wnad what good solid release it is.The guitars are done with a lot of skill and experience through out each song.The guitarist never really goes into hyper-speed blasts but prefer to stay in the mid paced range with a few outbursts of faster arrangements.Vocals are done with extreme blackend shrieks and screams through out the entire cd.This is a very good solid black metal release if you are a fan of the underground black metal then do yourself a favor and pick this up today.
Vier Longplayer gibt es jetzt von Amezarak, von denen die letzten drei Titel für den durchschnittlichen Mitteleuropäer lesbar waren, denn normalerweise schreiben sie sich kyrillisch, auch den Bandnamen. Auf "Daemonolatreia" geht’s mit Grillengezirpe los, dann wird eine schraddelnde Gitarre eingefadet, bis die Highspeed Hölle losbricht. Die Riffs sind hier sehr hell, etwa wie sonst die Leads. Dieses Riffwerk könnte man sich auch von der Balalaika gespielt vorstellen, wie im sechsminütigen Opener. Das liegt nicht an der russischen Herkunft der Band, sondern ist bekannterweise im Black Metal schon üblich. Dazu dringt Gekeife aus dem Back, das auch nicht für Wärme sorgt. Sonst ist die Scheibe eine einzige, sehr böse Geschwindigkeitsorgie, aus der kratzige Kälte dringt, wie es der Black Metaller mag. Cool ist auch der Midtempopart im sechsten Song, oder wie griffig der einzig lesbare Titeltrack losrockt. Die Russen bilden Atmosphäre durch viele Wiederholungen, die ihre Wirkung nicht verfehlen. Im Mittelpunkt steht hier ein Mann namens Lord Dead, der sich um Vocals und alle Instrumente kümmert.

И снова блэковый one man проект. На этот раз из уральского города Златоуст. Руководит проектом Lord Dead, известный по блэк-составу Barathron, а в качестве автора текстов на этот раз выступил его сподвижник по баратрону — Lord Ghost.
Четвёртый альбом проекта назван “Daemonolatreia” (почитание демонов). Мне всегда нравилось греческое слово latreia (“культ”, “религиозное почитание”), и особенно отрадно видеть его вынесенным в название блэк-релиза. Буклет пестрит чернотой пентаклей, а тексты отличаются “правильностью” и профильностью: тут обитают демоны, зло, адские писания и сопутствующая блэковая классика:
“Раскрой же, Тьма, объятия свои,
И под свирепый хищный вой волчицы
На землю нежную туманом Зло впусти,
Разящие огнём коварства колесницы.
Раскройся, Тьма, свеченьем молний ада,
Чтобы легионы демонов впустить
Для истребления земного сада”

Lord Dead говорит, что для него музицирование в стиле блэк является культовым действием, своего рода молитвой-призывом по отношению к тёмным силам. Скрипуче чадящий скоростной шум проекта Амезарак не лишён своеобразной мелодичности, которая на фоне их чёрного шарма выглядит очень уместно и совершенно не портит общей трушной картины. А в остальном Амезарак – это классический скоростной блэк, хорошо сыгранный и прекрасно записанный. Режущие гитары, мерные драмсы, много “железа”, канонический скрим. Всё ортодоксально и на уровне, а гитары ласкают слух почти трэшевым плотным звоном, проступая то там, то здесь на фоне ритуальной чёрной темноты. Самый интересный трек на пластирнке – “Стань злом”. Эта среднетемповая вещь с мелодичными соло, красивыми проигрышами и знойной (sic) мелодией имеет все шансы на то, чтобы стать настоящим блэковым хитом. Bravissimo.
Амезарак играет напористо, чётко и уверенно, а “Daemonolatreia” на данный момент является самым совершенным с технической точки зрения и самым убедительным релизом в их дискографии, в то время как новейшая работа Лорда Дэда вышла несколько спорной и неоднозначной.

Amezarak are a solo project from Russia that recently had his current album reviewed in this zine and this is a review of an older album from 2014 called "Daemonolatreia" which was also in a raw and melodic style of satanic black metal and was released as a joint effort between Satanath Records, Metallic Media and Metal Throne Productions.
Nature sounds start off the album before going into a very fast and raw black metal direction along with some blast beats and grim yet high pitched screams and all of the musical instruments have a very powerful sound to them and a great amount of melody can be heard in the guitar riffing bring in a Swedish vibe.
Some of the songs are long and epic in length and the songs also bring in a great mixture of slow, mid paced and fast parts and the solos and leads also remain true to a melodic style of black metal and you can hear a great amount of 90's influences throughout the recording and the songs also bring in a very dark atmosphere with guitars alone and the whole album remains heavy from beginning to ending of the recording.
With this recording Amezarak played a style of black metal that was very raw and melodic in the early to mid 90's Swedish tradition, the production sounds very professional while the lyrics are written in Russian and cover Satanism and Occultism themes.
In my opinion this is another great sounding recording from Amezarak and if you are a fan of raw and melodic satanic black metal, you should check out this album. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "Start Of Emptiness" "Ten Substance" "Become Evil" and "Exodus".

Well, since it's 'black friday' today, a joyful holiday about greed and violence if I understand it correctly, let's blast a few black metal albums through my speakers. We kick off with two albums by Russian black metal horde Ame3apak, beginning with their 2014 album 'Daemonolatreia'.
Since 2012, at least according to what I can find on the internet, this band has been coming up with an album every single year. For some, that might raise questions about originality and in a way those people could be right. What this band does, is not really original but believe me, it's worth checking out.
'Daemonolatreia' is an excellent addition to any black metal collection. Anyone who's into stuff by Darkthrone, Immortal, Marduk and so on, can blindly trust this act to deliver the goods. Haunted screams, ferocious riffs and skull drilling are the key ingredients and they're brought with enough variation to maintain interesting.
Of course, this is as typical as black metal can get, of course there's Satanism involved, of course the atmosphere is bleak and terrifying, of course you should obviously get your hands on a copy of this if you're into this kind of music and of course you will love the shit out of it.

Недавно я писал про АМЕЗАРАК — про их альбом 15 года. А у меня в пачке, оказывается, располагался еще и более ранний продукт - диск Daemonolatreia 14 года. Вот цитата из того отклика «Ибо появились достаточно сложносочиненные (для блака) прожженные партии, с которых сыпались уголь и зола. Так мало того, через время гитара, вдруг сойдя с ума, решилась на «лирические», мертвецки запойные, угарные пассажи, более пристойные блак думу. Хорошо..." ну и так далее. См. соответствующий отклик. Напомню еще, что это группировка из Златоуста, Челябинской области. Группировка - ибо на буклете диска есть фото еще одного камрада кроме Лорда Dead — это Лорд Ghost. И он отвечал, вроде как за тексты, которыми нашпигован этот альбом АМЕЗАРАК. Тексты взяты из Черной библии. Так что места для шуток здесь мало.
Кроме того, как всегда, отмечаю, что в этом буклете размещено достаточно много (19 общим числом) оккультных печатей — часть в буклете, часть на заднике. Эти знаки усиливают энергетику компакта и без того насыщенного аудиальным материалом по самое немогу. Об этом, как водится, по-подробнее.
АМЕЗАРАК, став в итоге антимузыкальным моно-проектом Лорда Dead, культивирует труйный блак в его самой архетипической форме — без лишних изысков, не дай бог натужных клавишных, и каких-то позерских и мажорных мелодий. Это хороший образчик уральского краеугольного блака, который произрастает на правильном гитарном поливе в правильных темных пещерах... несомненно, при проведении должных ритуалов = воззваний к мрачным духам местности.
Это я, как Господину Вию, пытаюсь поднять веки некоторым металлерам России, которые заучили, что «на западе - все лучшее». Видимо от совкового прошлого, от родителей достался им этот лозунг, который продолжает тихо подыхать на территории Russia. Ибо только недавно беседовал на эту тему с металлюгами, в частности с November Driodru. Сошлись на том, что в России сейчас множество команд, работающих в самых разных направлениях — именно нормального — хорошего уровня, а местами и отличного. Вывод сделали такой - поддерживать музыкантов можем только мы сами. Никто этого за нас не сделает. Но почему лозунг «тихо подыхает»? Оттого, что все больше металлюг понимают указанный выше вывод.
АМЕЗАРАК жжет напалмом по той же самой пересеченной местности, по которой прошлись сотни тысяч блак металлических воинов в боевой раскраске — warpaint. И получает реальный результат. Ибо намерения - более чем серьезные. Они, можно сказать, написаны на штурмбаннере проекта: где-то готикой, где-то более страшным шрифтом, но буквы все равно перепачканы кровью и черным — элементы тления всегда вылазят там, где надо и не надо.
Что возрадует демонически прожженого металлюгу на данном компакте, так это гитарная шмелевая отработка, жестокая, мрачная, торжествующая... но есть и регионы, где она практически похоронная, и уж точно — эпизодами - реваншистская и злобно-темная. Лорд Dead как гитарист - не Пако де Лусиа (во всяком случае, не на этом проекте) и как же мы этому рады. НО. Совершенно понятно, что его исполнительского мастерства с лихвой хватает, чтобы оформить своим струнным дизайном данный диск. Откровенно говоря, иногда даже кажется, что он в мыслях пытался всучить нам сногсшибательного риффа, но сразу спохватывался — блак метал!!! НО, тем не менее, эти мысли задокументированы на компакте АМЕЗАРАК, особливо когда Dead выходил на равнину медленных пронзительных партий — вот здесь явственно пахло мелодизмом. НО каким? Инфернальным и извращенным, напоенным отравой из цикуты и белладонны. Не менее. Есть там музыкальные овраги и попроще, но в комплексе с вокалом такие же бесшабашные и анархически угарные. В своей стилистике, естественно.
Уральский указанный архетип работает жестко, неправедно и тоталитарно — это то, что мы ценим в блак металле. АМЕЗАРАК дает суровую картинку бытования этого жанра в региональном разрезе и … тут нам только не хватает самых глубоких шахт, ведущих в преисподнюю. Это об общем настрое диска, на котором супериорную роль сыграл вокал Lord Dead. Без обиняков: суровые летА, проведенные им в жанре, не прошли даром, его скрим, это звуки старого, но предельно опасного дикого зверя, из подобия берлоги злобно озвучивающего музыкальное полотно, тщательно пересыпающего его угольной крошкой своего голоса. В итоге, цельность и бесноватость материала, обусловленная как раз вокальными изысками Dead, располагается на высоком уровне, приближающемся к левелу 666.
