Burzum - проект норвежского музыканта и писателя Варга Викернеса, основанный в 1991 году. Первоначально был активен до 2000. Был вновь возрождён в 2009 году, но 1 июня 2018 года Викернес объявил о закрытии BURZUM на своем YouTube-канале. Название проекта было взято из трилогии Дж. Р. Р. Толкина «Властелин колец»: слово «burzum» переводится как «тьма» на чёрном наречии — вымышленном языке, придуманном Толкином. Проект Burzum стал неотъемлемой частью ранней black metal сцены, повлияв на его развитие наряду с такими группами, как Mayhem, Darkthrone, Immortal, Emperor и Gorgoroth. Ремастированный альбом "Dauði Baldrs" издан Byelobog Productions в 2010 году. Во время записи альбома в конце 1994-начале 1995 Варг отбывал срок за убийство. Burzum - the project of the Norwegian musician and writer Varg Vikernes, founded in 1991. He was initially active until 2000. He was revived again in 2009, but on June 1, 2018 Vikernes announced the closure of BURZUM on his YouTube channel. The name of the project was taken from the trilogy of J.R.R.Tolkin “The Lord of the Rings”: the word “burzum” is translated as “darkness” in a black tongue - a fictional language coined by Tolkien. The Burzum project became an integral part of the early black metal scene, influencing its development along with bands such as Mayhem, Darkthrone, Immortal, Emperor and Gorgoroth. The remastered album "Dauði Baldrs" was released by Byelobog Productions in 2010. Dauði Baldrs released in 1997, but recorded late 1994/early 1995 on a 4-track portable studio. This instrumental album is basically the soundtrack to the story of Balder. Though there are lyrics in the booklet, the music itself doesn't have any vocals. The text (written in Old Norse) is to inform the reader about what the atmosphere surrounding the songs themselves should be, or rather, what the songs should feel like in general. Album recorded while in prison for the murder of Euronymous and the conviction of church burning. Varg wasn't allowed any musical instruments in prison, so he made this ambient album entirely with the MIDI sound format. No metal on this album. This edition is first official version for Russia, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Georgia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Moldova, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, Ukraine and Uzbekistan. Release under license from No Survivors Ltd and Byelobog Productions, 500 copies contain 12-page booklet and 2 stickers. An exclusive edition from the forefathers of the Norwegian Black Metal was released in a special slipcase with a silver convex combining when collecting the entire discography in the original picture. The 12-CD boxed set itself includes something else unique.
