BLACK CULT is a black metal band formed in late 2013 by two of the most prominent individuals from the Croatian black metal scene, Insanus (Zvijer, Castrum, Unholy Inquisition, Gorthaur’s Wrath) and Morbid (Gorthaur’s Wrath, Empire Of Hell). The band started off as a project. After releasing their debut album “Neo-Satanism” back in 2014, Black Cult took on a full line-up and started promoting the album through live appearances. New members included Lesovik (Kult Perunov, Voloh, Gorthaur's Wrath) on bass guitar, Azaghal (Unholy Inquisition, Czaar) on rhythm guitar and Saathaen (Ashes You Leave) on lead guitar. The debut album got great critics from fans as well as reviewers. After two years of promotion, the band has retreated to their dungeons to record a new album under the name “Cathedral of the Black Cult” which was released in 2016. The line-up changed and Juko, the new lead guitarist, was brought on board. The promotion of the 2nd full-length album included various concerts and festivals and reached good critics. Work on a new album named "Nekropola" started at the beginning of 2018, but due to personal reasons, Insanus has moved to the U.K. and the band became a project once again. This delayed the recording of the album which was finally finished in October 2019.
