Technical Brutal Death Metal.

Chaotic Matrix.

Pit-Art CD.

For over 20 years INTERNAL SUFFERING has remained true to their sound and consistent in releasing some extreme albums, that can be subjected to the genre. And that is uncompromising, fast and relentless technical brutal Death Metal in its rawest form. The Colombian combo started delivering this rawest and brutal form with their celebrated debut “Supreme Knowledge Domain”, which was recorded during 1999 – the period, when SUFFOCATION, CRYPTOPSY and ORIGIN, already carved their mark in the underground with seminal releases, now regarded as genre classics. The South American gang might also catches the fire, where speed and brutality are an absolute priority and possibly, the active machine gun nests guarding coca plantations in their native Colombia are apparently grateful inspiration to the four lunatics, where no compromise shown for any infiltrators and fire from the beginning is the mantra. And, like all South American acts from the classic periods, they showed fascinating uniqueness; as the lyrics aren’t about the usual antisocial, religion, gore, murder stuff but seem to be dealing about spiritualism, fantasy, chaos, death, demonology, and the Cthulhu mythos. Songs titled ‘Threshold Into The Unknown’, ‘Outside Dwellers’, ‘Beyond The Mystic Portal Of Madness’, ‘Evil Sorcerers’ or ‘Enter The Gate Of Death’ indicate that the Colombians were deeply subscribed to an occult mystery, not a splash of blood. However, music wise, even if they haven’t produced anything original, it’s very enticing to hear music in the original style, when it was created – in the trademark intense and passionate South American way. Also, production wise, it seems the Colombians were not fortunate like American bands in terms of studio support, which might contribute that the debut didn’t achieve any comparable respect and recognition like their US counterparts received in that time. Now, many aware and unaware fans might going sit on their asses, as after being initially released by Perverted Taste and later, re-issued by Displeased Records in 2006, a completely remastered version of the original songs including revamped layout (Aleksey Korolyov) and four exclusive bonus tracks, now made available by Satanath Records and Rotten Roll Rex. With this exclusive re-issue, this Colombian force will find many more ears, even though, so much is their influence in the community that they are even producing their own brand of 333% pure Colombian coffee – may be, only to give respite to all the exposed ones who have been and will be slaughtering their eardrums along the 31:32 minute inhuman, deafening, grotesque and tormenting course of “Supreme Knowledge Domain”.

Since Colombian Brutal Death Metal band Internal Suffering’s debut album has just been reissued, today’s review will be about it.

This band, and especially this album, are the clearest example of Brutal Death Metal at its late 90’s peak. With completely incomprehensible pig growls, caveman drums, harmonic packed guitar and low and technical bass guitars, this debut album has all the possible brutality of the genre packed into 10 poorly recorded songs.

With the reissue, there are also included the 4 songs of their 2000 promo tape, which are in my opinion much more aggressive and overall good, taking the genre to its extreme and treading upon the domains of Grind Death every now and then. It is good to have both pieces in a single reissue, which makes this hidden gem much more accessible.

If you’re in the mood for primitive metal at its peak brutality, check out this album, you won’t regret it. It is a great Brutal Death Metal album hidden in the shadow of bands from other countries who have it easier to get famous, but that doesn’t mean that this band is worse, in fact it’s just as good.

Another reissue from Satanath Records, once again from the Colombians Internal Suffering, this time their debut album from 1999 “Supreme Knowledge Domain”. The 10 tracks have been remastered and 4 tracks from the 2000 promo were added to the release.

These guys are dead serious about their stuff. The debut already shows their high potential. “Mighty Triumphant Return” sounds like a forgotten track from Suffocation’s “Effigy of the Forgotten”. Great reference right? The record continues pretty much that way, showing technicality, good song writing (they know when they have to slow down a bit).

Besides sounding similar to Suffocation, they incorporate odd time signatures and thanks to this, also add an own sick and twisted taste for the gory fans. The slams are mammoth balls like and placed at the right point. (Valley of the Impaled).

“Evil Sorcerers” has a damn great groove, alternating with fast hammerblasts here and there, still sounding slamming all the way, the brutal way!

“Supreme Knowledge Domain” slays! Top notch Brutal Death, an evolved “Effigy of the Forgotten” If you wish and another hidden gem of a band that is going to sound different on each record, making things interesting, but remaining true to the core.

Brutal Death Maniacs should check this out, could be the thing you missed.

This re-release of the band's debut from 1999 also features the four songs that made up the 2000 Promo. Supreme Knowledge Domain itself contains 10 songs that are of course remastered here. However, the sound is still what is expected. The Colombians practice the Suffocation school of death metal. The almost squealing vocals of Fabio Marin is a hallmark of the style but the added bonus is the horror movie monster-like screams that the man manages to release from his mouth. The not always distinguishable riffs are brutal and the bass heavy and often very present in the mix. These all add to the impact of the songs. The drums are also predictable, mainly in the sense that their sound in the production is typical of the aforementioned death metal style. The 2000 Promo featured a new drummer in Edwin Quiza, little had changed. The intensity and aggression remain unchanged. This was not the most original and time has made it even less so, but the Colombians were and are unmerciful.

The first time I saw this band’s name I thought that they were Americans. Not in my wildest imagination had I thought them to be Colombian. Satanath keep rereleasing the back catalogue which gives me a chance to experience them for the first time. As much as I love brutal death metal as much do I have issues with “Supreme Knowledge Domain”, the first album originally released in 1999. It is not bad stuff. If you like that whole brutal US death metal that goes chugga chugga this will appeal to you. What I do oppose to is the sound. It is too weak to do the brutality any justice. I can’t help wondering where the guitars are in the mix. All I pretty much hear is the growls and the drums. But as a document of a band in its infancy this is cool.

Supreme Knowledge Domain is a debut album of this Colombian/Spanish band from 1999. It was already re-released number of times by various labels and on every possible format - vinyl, CD, cassette... Now, it`s time for another, a 2020 CD re-issue of the album with 4 bonus tracks and logos of Satanath Records (Rus) and Rotten Roll Rex (Ger) on the cover.

Internal Suffering is a brutal death metal band and that's exactly the music you'll hear on this album. There is no history to their songs that you could not have known from other brutal death metal releases you heard in your life. If you like 90`s death metal like Deeds Of Flesh, Reinfection, first Suffocation album etc, you should know that Supreme Knowledge Domain has songs in this vein but song-writing (or rather a slaughter-writing) of Internal Suffering music is badder, but music to my ears is crueller and more exterminating..The sound of drums has tons of blast beats and double kicks drums which drowns the guitar tone a bit, even the remix of this album did not improved it much ...Note, it does not sounds that bad, but since I heard album Of The Dark Light by Suffocation, which change my perception on brutal death metal and how masterfully it can be produced nowadays, Supreme Knowledge Domain sounds today more like a demo.

Okey, the band presents 10 very fast tracks that sound severely and brutal as fuck on this album. Also, hear out those pulverizing vocals, hear out a madness on drums, and death metal guitar shreds (restrained technicality) with zero melodies and just speed and brutality – a method to wipe out your brain cells without leaving home. The only thing I remember from the album when it ends are slower, very heavy and slamy death metal moments – music has better music clarity if the drummer doesn't play fast in these fragments.

Latter, in the same year (1999), the band recorded 4 songs (bonuses in this album) in other studio and changed the drummer (the rest of the line-up remained the same). They still managed to push their brutality very little forward (hard to believe it`s possible), drummer plays better, more technical, more rolls on drums. maybe that`s why their songs sound so devastating...Vocals are pushed to the maximum of extremity, there is more tense guitar intensity, so, only brutal staff here....

This album is no surprise at all, but I am always okey to refresh old school brutal death metal in my head which is what you get from Internal Suffering when listening those songs.

Satanath Records and Rotten Roll Rex are keep reissuing the Colombian brutal death metal cartel's back catalogue. Here they come with 10 songs out of the debut album "Supreme Knowledge Domain" (1999) added with four extra tracks taken from the "Promo 2000". Believe or not, but both of these early records are still pretty ass-kicking to these days, despite the rawness of the sound productions. Let me also remind you that for underground bands it worked usually this way in the past. Howsoever, two decades later these materials have deservedly become classics. One more thing, whenever I listen to "Supreme Knowledge Domain", I always run into analogies with the northern hyperblast dealers from Canada, namely Kataklysm. Of course, you have to mean here their very early records or trilogies exclusively. Even all the crazy growls and screams of Andrés Garcia are so reminiscent of Sylvain Houde's ones. Coincidence or not, I don't mind it at all, because the quartet has put the standards of brutality to another level. In a word, this is pure slamming death metal savagery, which strikes hard with its bulldozing dynamism, while the lyrical aspects are fully focused on the ancient ones. A must for all the slamming brutal death metal freaks out there!!!

Brutaali death metal, erityisesti slam, on hankala genre.

Taisi seitsemännen kappaleen “Enter The Gate Of Death” aikana kuulua myös ensimmäinen kitarasoolo?
