A blast from the cold east is what delivers the 'Torture Of Consciousness' as a debut EP by Inhumanity. Slamming Brutal Death Metal awaits in the shadows on album number two as the trio from the Ukraine devise a set of songs to unleash merry hell upon the masses. Whilst the technical riffing offers a tasty lick or two and the drums keeping air drummers moving with double bass drumming going faster than a leopard in hunting mode, the only downside is the vocals of which appear to be merely nothing more than generic grunting and growling, if there are any words there they must be in some dialect unknown to mankind, that said they could have busted up the microphones.

Яшчэ адзін маленькі, але шматабяцальны дэт-метал дэбют з брацкай Украіны, на гэты раз з горада Адэсы. Змрочнае афармленьне вокладкі ў чорна-белых танах, вычварны лагатып, і жудаснаваты кавер-арт як бы намякаюць, што зьмест будзе адпавядаць форме.
Прадчуваньне не падманула. Кароткае і спакойнае інтра спачатку зьбіла з панталыку і ўсыпіла пільнасьць, але пачынаючы з другога трэка ўсё ўстала на свае месцы. Гэта дэз-метал старой школы, у лепшых традыцыях першай шведскай хвалі. Ніякіх кампрамісаў — выключна драйв, агрэсія і хуткасьць. Феерыя брутальных гітар і забойных барабанаў, дапоўненая вантробным гроўлінгам а-ля Масэ Бромберг. Ды яшчэ і запісана ўсё якасна — аж дзіву даешся. Аматары «андэграўнда» дружна скажуць «фі», а мудрыя металхэды атрымаюць порцыю задавальненьня. Асобнага згадваньня заслугоўвае кавер на песьню гурта Grave — Into The Grave, які хістае паболей за арыгінал.
«Катаваньне сьвядомасьці» прайшло пасьпяхова, і нават прыемна. Шкада, што так хутка — інтра, дзьве свае кампазіцыі ды адзін кавер. Ёсьць вечныя рэчы ў дэз-металу, такія, як альбомы Penetralia і Osculum Оbscenum гурта Hypocrisy, раньняя творчасьць Entombed і Grave, але нават яны пры працяглым і частым праслухоўваньні могуць надакучыць, і тады на дапамогу прыходзяць такія хлопцы, як Inhumanity: ідэйныя, музычныя і таленавітыя. Яны ня гоняцца за модай і славай, а граюць тую музыку, якая падабаецца ім самім. І знаходзяць свайго, няхай нешматлікага, але удзячнага слухача. Inhumanity — захоўвайце традыцыі, хутчэй пішыце паўнафарматнік і прыязджайце ў Беларусь з канцэртамі. 9 з 10.
Inhumanity are a Death Metal combo from Ukraine, with only one record on their discography, the EP / MCD Torture Of Consciousness. The trio recorded this stuff in July 2012, and soon after it was released via Russia’s Satanath Records.
Torture Of Consciousness lasts for thirteen minutes (a short intro and three tracks that last for about four minutes each) and opens with the instrumental intro Mind Tomb, based on a rather obscure guitar lead with splendid semi-acoustic accompaniment. But with the next track, the title song, you know what to expect: fierce and violent Death Metal with a touch of primal brutality. It is like a sonic expression of hate, anger and disgust, translated through melodic and grooving, yet extremely powerful riffs and rhythms. It is filled with hints of the Swedish (early Hypocrisy, Grave) and German (Penetralia, Arroganz) scene, though it is not limited to this grotesquery. Dimensions Of Pure Evil is even more interesting, with truly fabulous tremolo leads throughout the whole track, drenching all of it into a mostly nasty and obscure mud. And the EP ends with a track called Into The Grave… ever heard of it? No, seriously, this must be one of the best cover songs ever (though once again, the original is better than etc.).
I do not know if this Ukrainian combo is still ‘alive’ (at least one member left in mean time), but if so, then I do look forward to hear their upcoming (full length?) release. This record is one of the best things within this specific niche I’ve heard in quite some time!

Inhumanity are a band from Ukraine that plays a very old school form of death metal and this is a review of their 2012 ep "Torture Of Consciousness" which was released by Satanath Records.
Acoustic guitar playing which also uses open notes and finger picking starts off the ep along with some melodic guitar leads and after the into a powerful bass guitar kicks in that also takes the music into a heavier direction along with a great amount of blast beats and death metal growls as well as a small amount of screams.
Throughout the recording there is a great mixture of slow, mid paced and fast parts and the music is very heavily rooted in the early 90's Swedish style in both the riffs and solos and the music also ignores any modern trends of the past 20 years and they also bring in a brief use of spoken word samples from a horror movie and they also close the ep with a cover of Grave's "Into the Grave".
Inhumanity plays a style of death metal that is very raw, filthy and dirty in the early 90's Swedish style, the production sounds very professional while the lyrics cover dark, blasphemous, gore and violence themes.
In my opinion Inhumanity are a very great sounding old school death metal band and if you are a fan of this musical genre, you should check out this ep. RECOMMENDED TRACK "Dimension Of The Pure Evil".
