Le raccolte sono spesso una faccenda un po' così... Da un lato abbiamo i veneratori di un gruppo underground — vecchio o nuovo che sia — e dall'altro i collezionisti di ogni versione possibile di un disco. "First Three Nails" è piuttosto pane per la prima categoria di ascoltatori, poiché contiene le limitatissime prime tre uscite dei finlandesi Sacrilegious Impalement: il demo del 2006 "Total Annihilation", l'EP "Sacrilegious Impalement" del 2007 e infine il sette pollici "World in Ashes" uscito l'anno dopo.
Il trio di Lahti, conosciuto per la sua vena teatrale in sede live, si presenta legato alla tradizione Black Metal svedese, lasciando trasparire all'inizio qualche tocco norvegese di stile Urgehal. Con il passare dei tre anni coperti da questo CD, Re Wasa domina però sempre più il campo di battaglia. In questo periodo si registra anche una leggera evoluzione esecutiva. Durante il suo tragitto il gruppo preferisce non fissarsi troppo su una direzione precisa, ma passeggia al mercato e gusta un po' da ogni bancarella, attaccando i timpani con sclerate in velocità, offrendo invece tetra maestosità con "Infinite Darkness", per giungere poi a una prestazione piuttosto Black'N'Roll come "Behead The Infants Of God".
La forza dei Sacrilegious Impalement risiede nel saper mettere in equilibrio velocità e parti emozionanti più lente. Questa qualità compensa un certo anonimato delle canzoni e sarebbe piuttosto da gustare a un concerto, muovendo il capo ai ritmi intensi, tenendo magari in mano una birra fresca.
"First Three Nails" interesserà tanto agli amici del trio finlandese — qui ancora alla ricerca della propria identità — quanto ai tradizionalisti restii all'innovazione che preferiscono ascoltare Black scandinavo artigianale di ottima fattura.
De Finnen van Sacrilegious Impalement zijn ons bekend, aangezien we hun twee laatste werken toegestuurd kregen. Dit jaar hebben ze besloten om onder de vleugels van Satanath Records hun eerste drie creaturen terug vorm te geven en te branden op een compilatieplaat, dat zijn dan meteen de drie nagels waar naar verwezen wordt in de titel. Een leuke woordspeling naar wat nostalgische releases en een iets minder leuke ervaring voor Jezus.
En dat betekent dat die EP’s er ook in hun totaliteit op komen te staan, zowel met de demo-versie van Eternal Agonies als die op de selftitled EP stond van de band. Wat vooral opvalt na de eerste drie tracks is hoe dit smerig stukje blackmetal na de eerste drie tracks heel wat vunziger klinkt op basis van het geluid. Van puur demokwaliteit naar heerlijk volle en haatdragende black die in het vaarwater past van bands als Carpathian Forest, Dark Funeral en consorten. Heel wat beukkracht, maar toch ook wel met best wat charme in die kruipende vocalen en melodische diepgang. Een fijne heruitgave van wat muziek uit de oude gracht, maar toch ook met materiaal waar de band nu nog op steunt (Behead The Infants of God stond bijvoorbeeld nog op de vorige release). Voer voor de fans van de band, de verzamelaars en een interessante kennismaking voor wie de band nog niet kende.
I Sacrilegious Impalement sono un gruppo di bruti finlandesi che di lindo e pulito nella musica non hanno mai fatto niente. E a noi piace così, perché certi tipi di black sono cattivi e sporchi, senza compromessi. Sotto allora con una raccolta di una demo e due ep che danno il nome alla compilation. Le prime tre tracce sono davvero malsane e furenti, con una registrazione stranamente più che dignitosa, nonostante si tratti pur sempre di demo. Il black proposto è lontano dalle melodie a cui da anni ci hanno abituano i gruppi finnici. Qui si batte e forte. Ogni strumento è al servizio della voce maligna e leggermente gracchiante del singer, le parti ritmiche a formare un sostrato diabolico e cadenzato. La chitarra macina riff sporchi ma definiti, senza lasciare spazio a nulla di lontanamente melodico. Rassicuranti.
Sacrilegious Impalement are a Black Metal band from Finland.
This latest album collects together their three first releases – their début demo and two early EPs; Sacrilegious Impalement and World in Ashes.
The fact that their main songwriter is named Impaler Von Bastard means you know, or at least hope, this is gonna be class.
And it is.
With that in mind, this is raw and blasphemous Black Metal that takes the base skeleton of the genre and runs with it, faithfully recreating the core of the pure Black Metal style.
It’s a relentless assault that’s cold and frosted to the touch. This is Black Metal that lacks subtlety, mercy or any redeeming virtues. These songs drip with grimness and bile, as is their birthright. It exists to be pure fucking Black Metal and that is all.
The production is decent despite the raw nature of the music, and everything is audible and where it needs to be. It’s not an overly polished sound though, and the requisite underground feel is intact.
Even though this release features three releases a few years apart it still sounds coherent and consistent throughout, despite the slight variations in recording and writing.
For a fix of true Black Metal played proficiency and verve, Sacrilegious Impalement hit the spot.

Leider handelt es sich bei dieser Platte nicht um neues Material der finnischen Black Metaller, sondern um eine Compilation aus dem ersten Demo aus dem Jahre 2006, das mit „Total Annihilation“ beginnt und das neben seiner verdammt geilen Raserei auch in Sachen Sound ganz klar besser klingt, als so mach reguläre Black Metal Scheibe. Die Wut und Aggression sind bei diesem Geballer nah am Limit, das Crash Becken gefällt hier ganz besonders und danach ist mit „Holy Terror“ ein kurzer, schleppender und eisiger Part vorhanden, der aber nach kürzester Zeit dem höllischen Geprügel weicht und das Tempo immer wieder geschickt verlagert wird. „Eternal Agonies“ klingt im Sound etwas roher, musikalisch ist es immer noch aggressiver Black Metal, der aber mitunter auch majestätische Formen andeutet.
Die 2007'er EP „Sacrilegious Impalement“ hat mir seinerzeit schon sehr zugesagt, hier kann man das nochmal gerne nachlesen und schon damals waren 26 Minuten für eine EP sehr stark. So auch die Songs, wobei mir das Titelstück vor allem wegen seiner Darkthrone Nähe und dem frostigen Gebolze besonders gut gefallen hat. Auch das hymnische in „Infinite Darkness“ ist definitiv sehr gut und so war man gespannt, ob die 2008'er EP „World In Ashes“ diesen hohen Standard halten kann. Die beiden Stücke „World In Ashes“ und „Behead the Infants of God“ sind da musikalisch klar eine Weiterentwicklung, die sich durchaus sehen und hören lassen kann, nur mit dem doch zu dumpfen Sound konnte ich da weniger anfangen. Auf jeden Fall war hier der old school Spirit sehr hoch und man kann mit etwas Phantasie hier auch etwas Celtic Frost erkennen.
Die Finnen haben hier zu ihren Anfangszeiten schon sehr gutes Material abgeliefert, dass ich hier mit 7,7 von 10 Punkten belohne.
Финская блэк-метал-формация Sacrilegious Impalement начала свой старт вроде в 2005 году и очень быстро обрела популярность как в своей стране, так и за ее пределами, что, впрочем-то, не удивительно. Старт у группы был хоть и традиционный, с кассеток и цд-эрок, но сам подход к творчеству оказался далеко не посредственным, что, конечно же, сопровождалось (и сопровождается по сей день) упорным трудолюбием музыкантов в облике мощной подачи как в стилистическом имидже, так и концертной деятельности. Короче, парни не лыком шиты и наверняка с самого начала своего пути знали как что подать и откуда чего взять. На счету у группы три довольно сильных полноформатника, которые и вышли-то не на последних, в чернушных делах, лейблах. Но полноформаты, наверное, в этот раз обойду стороной и займусь рассмотрением трех самых первых релизов, которые силами трех лейблов вышли под таким же трехзначным названием, но на одном кругляше.
И открывает компиляшку опять же три трека с дебютной демо-кассеты "Total Annihilation", которая вышла в 2006 году на лейбле Kaos Propaganda. Если честно, то демо-записями эти треки назвать сложно, потому как Вас ожидает (с позиции жанра) очень качественный Black Metal с великолепным материалом, который прям впивается в мозг своей не то злобой, не то грустью, может даже немного тоской и прямолинейной вменяемостью.
Гитары шумят, перекидываясь с низконастроенных положений в высокочастотные тремоло, иногда открыто дисторшированные переборы, да при чем все это так грамотно происходит, что вроде и не замечаешь, как все пролетает. То же самое можно сказать и про барабаны, переходящие от бластбитов в галопы или поперечные ритмы, при этом ни капли не ломая композиционную целостность. Что касается вокала, то любители классического скриминга здесь наверняка разочаруются. Вокалист тут не верещит, как обреченный, а просто выражает рычанием свои эмоции. Выходит даже немного по дэтовому, местами гимноподобно, но очень вкусно. Хотя нет, не просто рычит. Порой и подвывает что-то, но, действительно, получается интересно. Уничтожаем все и вечно мучаемся во имя Святого Террора, в общем-то. А за первые три трека ставлю жирный плюс!
Вторую часть компиляции представляют четыре трека с первого профессионально изданного мини-альбома с одноименным названием. Новый материал вроде как-то и не изменился, а общий саунд как будто сорвал с себя толстую кожу, оголяя окровавленные кости. Т.е. звук стал более чистым, что стало немного отдавать норвежцами и шведами. При прослушивании музыка все так же завораживает, но что-то новое после дебютной демки не приносит, что, наверное, и к лучшему. Такое чувство, что материал был написан в одно время и в одном месте. Только новый гитарный саунд придает какой-то холод и фэнтезийно-сказочное ощущение. Наверняка если бы треки с демки были перезаписаны и изданы в компании с этим миником, то все звучало бы очень монолитно и непоколебимо правильно. Но раз музыканты посчитали сделать так, то, значит, именно так и должно быть. Кстати, четвертый трек - это как раз перезаписанная тема из демо-альбома. Послушав обе версии, вполне можно понять, что я имею ввиду.
Ну и напоследок идут два трека с семидюймовки "World In Ashes". Вот тут-то стало очень заметно, что для пластинки группа записала новосочиненный материал. Одноименный трек в отличии от предыдущих как-то не полыхает ненавистью и не представляет в голове картинки каких-то скандинавских холодов и призрачных чудес. Записано и сыграно все так же грамотно, схема вроде не изменилась, но уж какой то он "обычный", по сравнению с остальным материалом. А вот завершает все благословение этакий блэк-н-рольно/дарктроновская композиция под названием "Behead The Infants Of God". Darkthrone, конечно же, нашего времени.
В целом, я все-таки доволен, что эти три релиза были собраны в один. Маст-хэв всем ценителям черного искусства, и советую также переслушать все три полноформата группы, чем я и займусь в ближайшее время.

Sacrilegious Impalement are a band from Finland that has been featured before in this zine and plays a very raw, satanic and misanthropic form of black metal and this is a review of their 2015 compilation album "First three Nails" which was released as a joint effort between Satanath Records, Black Plague Records and Desert Of Death.
A very heavy, raw and melodic sound starts off the album and starts heading for more of a raw black metal direction along with some deep grim screams that also gets very high pitched at times and when the music speeds up a great amount of blast beats are utilized and the music is very heavily rooted in the mid 90's second wave style.
Throughout the recording you can hear a great mixture of slow, mid paced and fast parts and some of the tracks are very long and epic in length and all of the musical instruments have a very powerful sound to them and the band also shows a great amount of progression as musicians on the more current tracks on the compilation and one songs only uses a brief use of guitar leads while also remaining heavy throughout the whole recording with no soft or clean parts ever being utilized.
Sacrilegious Impalement plays a very misanthropic style of black metal throughout this compilation bringing in a great amount of raw aggression while also showing they are very talented as musicians, the production sounds very powerful while the lyrics cover destruction, misanthropy, Satanism and death themes.
In my opinion this is another great sounding recording from Sacrilegious Impalement and if you are a fan of raw, misanthropic and satanic black metal, you should check out this compilation. Black Metal ortodoxos para los tradicionalistas del género. Sacrilegious Impalement levantaron la bandera del Black escandinavo más sucio, diabólico y convencional desde un principio, y así han mantenido su espíritu y estilo hasta la fecha. Basta con ver una foto de ellos, o bien, leer el currículum de cada uno de los miembros (actuales y ex miembros) para darse una clara idea de por dónde va la cosa. "First Three Nails", tal como reza el nombre del disco, es un compilado que contiene las 3 primeras grabaciones del grupo, pero, además, es una muestrario de lo que es esta banda oriunda de Lahti, Finlandia: Black Metal hecho y derecho, sin ambages ni concesiones. Lo de ellos pasa por tocar rápido, sin complicaciones y con toda la impronta propia del Black finés, ese que supiera crear Beherit a fines de los 80s y que ha contado con continuadores de primer nivel como Sargeist, Horna, Satanic Warmaster, entre otros.
Como ya dije, estamos ante un compilado en el cual podemos encontrar estas 3 grabaciones: "Demo 2006" (primer grabación de la banda), el EP autotitulado del año 2007 y "World in Ashes" (EP lanzado en el año 2008). Todas grabaciones previas al primer disco full del grupo, pero que muestran al grupo haciendo exactamente lo mismo que han hecho siempre, aunque con un grado de crudeza mayor si se quiere, debido a que se trata de las primeras grabaciones. Mas las diferencias entre lo que encontramos aquí (el material más primitivo de SI) y lo que siguió a estas grabaciones, créanme, en mínima. Estos tipos son fieles a sí mismos, jamás cambian, jamás se traicionan. Será por eso que han logrado ganarse el respeto de las hordas de maníacos del Black Metal ortodoxo, ese que hizo un culto de las baterías que retumban como truenos, los gritos endemoniados, las guitarras filosas como hachas de vikingos y las atmósferas frías y diabólicas. Y todo lo demás también está, aunque de manera extramusical: corpsepainting, letras satánicas, etc etc. O sea, todo lo que una banda que se sitúa en el lado tradicional del Black Metal puede y debe ofrecer, pero bien hecho. Al fin y al cabo, hablamos de tipos que llevan muchos años haciendo esto; no sólo con esta banda, sino con otras bandas (Wrathprayer, cantante actual del grupo, fue vocalista de Unburied, una de las primeras bandas de Funeral Doom de la historia).
En resumen, he aquí un compilado interesante y entretenido para saciar la sed de Black Metal purista.

FIRST THREE NAILS is a compilation album from the black metal band, SACRILEGIOUS IMPALEMENT. What the album entails is the band’s original demo simply titled DEMO 2006 and the two EP’s SACRILEGIOUS IMPALEMENT (2007) and WORLD IN ASHES (2008). The results of putting these three albums together is a fun compilation that will amuse fans of black metal.
The first thing that worried me when I read the description of FIRST THREE NAILS is that most bands demo’s are of very poor quality. Thankfully this is not the case here. Each track has the same decent audio quality and it is pretty hard to notice when each album starts and finishes. The over all quality of the songs is also pretty high. The black metal approach is pretty standard for the genre but they chose the right riffs and when to balance it out with more extreme moments. The opening track TOTAL ANNIHILATION and ETERNAL AGONIES for example are very catchy up beat numbers that fans are most definitely not going to complain about.
The music is dark and a little bit repetitive. The CD has a well thought out production style that really makes the music easy on the ears whilst maintaining that rough as Hell charm. It is a smooth sound that compliments the music greatly. It would of been too easy to make this a jumbled mess of distortion like so many bands before them. Admittedly I was quite impressed with the consistency between the three albums presented on this disc. They came together to create quite a good album and I’ll admit that it was just not expected. Those looking for stuff like early BEHEMOTH will really like FIRST THREE NAILS.

As I am new to this lot I have no prior knowledge of what they are about. All I know is that they are Finns. I used to be totally into Impaled Nazarene. There was a time when they were about as extreme as it could be. Then I found even more extreme stuff and I moved on. SACRILEGIOUS IMPALEMENT are extreme the way Impaled Nazarene was extreme. There is an old school feel to this that adds a bit of charm to it all. I’d describe this as black-ish death metal. Neither nor but very much in-between.

Next year Finnish (top) act Sacrilegious Impalement will celebrate its tenth anniversary, but the celebration party already started by compiling their three oldest releases under the flag of First Three Nails. After those three items, the band recorded and released three excellent full length studio albums (within the Archives you will find two of them), but let’s focus on this compilation, which comes with a six-page booklet, and after being remastered at Digivision Records.
First Three Nails opens with the three tracks from the band’s untitled demo that was released in early Autumn 2006 on CD-r format. It was limited to 112 copies and saw the light via Kaos Propaganda Productions. Everything was recorded with assistance of Atte Karstila (just like the other material on this compilation) and as from the start it shows an enormous maturity, as if the band did play together for several years. Damn, opener Total Annihilation shows one of the strengths of the (Finnish) scene, for combining melody with intensity, and for mingling Scandinavian-styled majesty with timeless fierceness. Thrashing leads and grim vocals get supported heavily by a pounding rhythm section, and all this comes in a cover of fine-tuned production, i.e. raw and rough at the one hand, yet appropriate and impeccably necessary too. It speaks for itself that both other tracks, Holy Terror and Eternal Agonies, are comparable in sound and execution. It maintains the obscurity and grimness that characterises the whole Nordic-styled trend, yet with maintaining universal façade, and taking care of some variation – at least within tempo and structure. And damn no, this stuff does not renew, but seen the age…
Next are the four compositions of the EP Sacrilegious Impalement, the band’s first effort on Blasphemous Underground Productions. This mini was originally released at the very end of 2007 and it has a sound little more professionally elaborated that the demo. The intentions are totally comparable, defining an energetic and rough form of (European) Black Metal with that specific Second Wave attitude, balancing in between the epic of melody and the anger of misanthropic compositional grimness. Once again the band (build especially around vocalist / bassist Kaosbringer and guitarist Von Bastard, with drums performed by long-time collaborator Assassin) succeeds to bring anti-renewing stuff with an own, specific execution and a structurally grandiose song writing; and the latter fully and truly forgives the lack of originality (once again). And to be honest, I think the version of Eternal Agonies on this EP is even better performed than the original recorded edition of the demo.
First Three Nails ends with both tracks taken from the 7”EP World In Ashes (Blasphemous Underground Productions, September 2008; vinyl only), and it’s evident that these pieces go on in the very same vein. Both the title track and Behead The Infants Of God sort of combine the rawness of the European Old School with the specific epic melodies of the Scandinavian currents more characteristically. Especially the title track consists of those traditional elements, yet the initial B-side comes with a groovier and more black’n’rollin’ attitude, which was /and still is/ quite enjoyable.

Sacrilegious Impalement is a Finish band that has been around for quite a while and this cd contains rereleases of their first three utterings. The material presented here is taken form the demo, a 10” and a 7”. The band excels at the typical Finish style and this compilation shows that it has done so from the very start. If you know this band, than you also know this is not a waste of money.

Satanath Records в чернушном сотрудничестве с Black Plague Records (USA), Desert Of Death (Rus) выпустил компакт-диск финской команды Sacrilegious Impalement, которая работает с 2006 года и начала свой сатанинский путь с выпуска демки и двух эпишек, а позднее уже перешла на полноформаты и тотально выпустила три альбома. А вот сабжевое издание и есть как раз названные «Первые три гвоздя» «First Three Nails». Именно оттуда финны взяли материал чтобы заполнить бесноватое звуковое пространство этого компакта. К вашему удовольствию можно детализировать — tracks 1-3 from «Demo 2006» (2006), tracks 4-7 from «Sacrilegious Impalement» EP (2007), tracks 8-9 from «World In Ashes» EP (2008). Добавим, мастеринг провели в Digivision Records (Белоруссия). На 6-страничном вкладыше записано готикой, что ранее эти траки в формате компакта никогда не выпускались.
Это труйный, предельно честный и остро заточенный блак метал, который в свое время мощно произрастал на болотистых местностях финки, поставляя на мировой рынок осатанелый продукт, с хорошей дозой оголтелости и мракобесия. Как видим и сейчас такие вещи происходят. Недавно один человек затеял было дискуссию на эту тему на nnm в теме блак метал. Не поверите, все удалили, зачистили. Видимо какие-то неопознанные силы отслеживают тягу к черноте и музыке, которая опирается на аудиализацию архетипической модели темных богов. Все отслеживается и скидывается в тартарары. Чтобы и духа люциферианства не было. Потому можно рассматривать этот диск и таковые другие на Сатанант рекордс важным вкладом в общий проЧЕРНительский процесс, который идет в глобальных масштабах, несмотря на отчаянные попытки замолчать и застращать.
Поэтому в данном диске многое вероятно сошлось показательного для нынешнего положения дел в черном искусстве.
Черно белое формление
труйно до пределов берегов Ахерона, простое, как камень, летящий из пращи в голову отдельным персонажам, резкое и одновременно неконструктивное в самом лучшем смысле, хотя и не обделено своей первобытной логикой, воплощение которой стоит подержать в собственных руках.
Муз материал
наособинку от радостных (и нужных) паразитов, которые НАЗЫВАЮТСЯ блак металлом, а на самом деле, грызут его труп, истово блеща слюной и разбрызгивая смертоносное ничто.
Про музыку попозже. Общая напряжение этого компакта демонстрирует постоянный бесноватый ток и движется к минусовому — многотрицательному, но достаточному высокому потенциалу.
Тру блак Sacrilegious Impalement несет каркас — дикий, упорный, торфяной опасно тлеющий. Ритм-секционно он прорубает проклятые дорожки в заболоченном подлеске, работая топорами (гитарами) слаженно, навязчиво, в мидтемпо, огорошивая каждый раз уверенным взглядом из под поседевших патл, мелькая кровавыми белками глаз, обнажая особую мизантропическую фирменную ухмылку. Тактовая частота уходит иногда из мидтемпо к более быстрым тракам, погоняя чертоподобных троллей, навьюченных олдовым блаковым музыкальным багажом. В большом диавольском смысле ритмика этого произведения основывается на промежутках времени удобных сатанинствующему по-крупному меломану. Это особая хватка и связка, которые ментально тащит металлистов к берегам Стикса. Заставляя вглядываться вдаль, никак не переживая за прочих малых сих, оставленных своим Мастером.
Гитарная атака на компакте сродни грандиозному конвейеру, сооруженному для перенесения энергетики слушателя к Престолу. Гитаристы бьются в жестоком драйве, организуя смертоносный водоворот, илистый, хватающий за руки-ноги, утаскивающий вглубь человека, не удерживаемого светоносным взглядом на мир. Струнная группа не скупится на мрачную аудиальную подставку для блистающего ангела света, зачастую вполне помпезно, но тем не менее монструозно разворачивая покровы настоящего и заглядывая в обертку будущего, в этом есть, в частности, предназначение упорства и медитативности гитарного риффа. Кстати, инструментальный комплекс был сохранен с демок и эпишек в шикарном ЗЛОстном уровне, со всеми мелочами и безумными экстатическими особенностями материала. Во всяком случае слушается это адекватно моменту, и полностью отвечая искреннему намерению тру блака, которое производится ныне в формате диска. К тому же время истечения этого безумия — 50 минут без малого, что позволяет проникнуться чернушной идеей Sacrilegious Impalement на все сто процентов.
Вокалист этой группировки идеально подходит под описания такого рода работы — холодность, омерзение, безжалостность, каркающий прононс, свирепость исполнения и нечеловеческая энергия. Все это как в адской мясорубке прокручено в текущем исполнителе, и сказать что он злобностремителен это минимальное карьерное резюме.
Добавлю что группа метко выступает на финской сцене, собирая в помощники себе таких же угольно черных антимузыкантов, типа Blood Red Fog, Devouring Star и аналогов им в региональном андеграунде.
Настоящий блак существует, живет по своим труйным законам, провоцирует своими концертами, собирая самых отъявленных меломанов, которые давно распрощались с человеческим.
La Satanath Records immette sul mercato, sia digitale che su supporto limitato a 500 copie, questa compilation/raccolta dei finlandesi Sacrilegious Impalement, che raccoglie il primo demo "Total Annihilation" del 2006, l'EP "Sacrilegious Impalement" del 2007 e il 7” "World in Ashes" del 2008. E potrei anche fermarmi qui. Non me ne vogliano i finlandesi, ma la raccolte di materiale inedito e primitivo, come demo, b/side e inediti su tape mi urtano dai gruppi blasonati, figuriamoci dai Sacrilegious Impalement, che per quanto siano una discreta band di Black Metal grezzo ed oscuro, non sono certo dei capisaldi del genere, semmai dei gregari, nel marasma di proposte a livello mondiale.
Ciò che comunque salta all'orecchio nel primo demo, è una notevole voglia di farsi valere, cosa che apprezzo e stimo. Tre tracce, quelle di "Total Annihilation", che suonano già discretamente bene e pur non brillando per originalità, spesso il difetto maggiore dei Sacrilegious Impalement, si fanno sentire e godere con il loro Black Metal un po scolastico ma efficace.
l'EP "Sacrilegious Impalement"è anch'esso un discreto lavoro, registrato paradossalmente peggio, non so se per una precisa scelta stilistica oppure per un difetto finale di mix, ma il suono risulta un po scuro e non troppo bilanciato. Le tracce suonano però più articolate e risentono dell'influenza di gente come i Dissection, quindi violenza si, ma morbosa e sanguigna. Buoni pezzi insomma, ma niente di miracoloso.
L'ultimo capitolo della raccolta, ossia il 7” "World in Ashes", è anch'esso molto scuro in fase di mix e di suoni, ma le composizioni sono più compatte, meno sfilacciate a livello di struttura, quindi diciamo che dei miglioramenti globali nel tempo ci sono stati, cosa che poi suppongo si sentirà nei lavori futuri. Interessante poi la scelta di rendere “Behead The Infants Of God”, la traccia che chiude il lavoro, un esperimento di proto-Black'n'roll, con tanto di quattro all'inizio del brano. Effetto simpatico e che da al tutto una dimensione decisamente più informale, cosa che questa raccolta, in fondo resta.
Se siete del die-hard fans della band in questione, fate vostro questo lavoro, del resto i primi lavori sono abbondantemente esauriti, quindi un ripasso generale non può che fare bene, per chi invece è al primo approccio, come il sottoscritto ad esempio, resta una raccolta sterile e francamente un po' fine a se stessa e che finisce, ben presto, a prendere polvere sulla mensola dei CD.

Chi l’ha mai detto che un gruppo e’ capace di esprimere Odio, Dolore... e trascinare dentro un girone interminabile di chitarre incessanti, rulli di tamburi e piatti, giri di basso e voci agghiaccianti e iraconde?
I Finlandesi Sacrilegious Impalement con il loro ultimo full:
‘First Three Nails’, rilasciato sotto le label: Satanath Record, Black Plague Records e Desert of Death Records. Il gruppo si e’ formato a Lahti nel 2005 dal chitarrista e songwriter Impaler Von Bastard.
Durante questi anni il gruppo ha pubblicato vari lavori: ‘Demo 2006’ (2006), ’Sacrilegious Impalement’ (2007) e ‘Word in Ashes’ (2008). Inoltre vari cambi di line-up, avendo artisti provenienti da gruppi come: Evil Angel, Exordium, Neutron Hammer, The Crescent Urn; ma il ‘cuore’ dei Sacrilegious Impalement sono: Impaler Von Bastard, Tooloud (basso), Revenant (batteria) e, il nuovo vocalist/songwriter, Wrathprayer. Quest’ultimo e’conosciuto per la sua particolare presenza scenica (tipico dei frontman Black Metal, basta che ci riportiamo alla mente il compianto Dead o Attila dei MayheM, famosi per i loro atti di autolesionismo in pieno live). Possiamo anche aggiungere alla storia del gruppo, i vari live e headline: Nel 2010 hanno aperto il concerto al Firebox Metal Fest IIIC rimpiazzando i Marduk; a Londra, l’Armageddon fest con i Watain, Von, Nifelheim, Repugnat ecc... e un tour con il gruppo Finlandese Black Crucifixion ed altri.
Passando dritti al vivo dell’album, iniziando con la Opening track ‘Total Annhilation’: I primi riff di chitarra ci calano gia’ nella dimensione oscura che fa il concept dell’intero disco, susseguendo colpi incessanti di batteria, vortici di grida, in ‘Holy Terror’, ’Sacrilegious Impalement’. ’Infinite Darkness’, ’Prophet of Misantropy’ e ‘Eternal Agonies’, pero’ si chiaramente denotano le influenze del gruppo (e magari il motivo del perche’ loro sono entrati nel tempio del True Finnish Black Metal): MayheM (De Mysteriis Dom Sathanas, Deathcrush), Ulver (Nattens Madrigal), Nargaroth (Black Metal Ist Krieg), Darkthrone (A Blaze in the Nothern Sky, Panzerfaust, Transilvanian Hunger, Under a funeral Moon)... giusto per citarne alcuni. Altro elemento importante sono le distinte vocals tra Grohls, Scream e Inhale, che arricchiscono e si avvolgono perfettamente a tutta la base musicale dell’album, soprattutto nelle tracks: ’Word in Ashes’, ’Behead the Infants of God’, ’Infinite Darkness’, ’Sacrilegious Impalement’ e ‘Prophet of misanthropy’.
Album da me molto apprezzato, secondo il mio parere il vero Black e’ marchiato Scandinavo... quindi dedico questa perla nera a chi ama e vuole fare del sano headbanging sotto queste note di distruzione!

Finland's cruel Black / Death Metal masters, formed back in 2006, presents here their first three recordings in one CD, including their debut demo and the two following 7” EP songs. Their setyle has not changed that much from the demo, which is a killer form of Black Metal with many touches of MAYHEM’s “De Mysteriis...” with slight touches of evil Death Metal à la DEICIDE. Although the recordings of course vary in sound, they are all good on its own, I think I can hear the MAYHEM influence more in their EPs. The band plays mostly up-tempo, but when doing some slower passages, you can hear a DISSECTION influence too. For the last songs, of their last EP, there is a noticeable use of more evil Death Metal influences in the realm of early MORBID ANGEL and even some ugly punked out Metal sound. Of course their albums are way superior and even more evil sounding, and better produced and performed, but this is quite a very complete and good compilation of the band and for those looking to have all their material here is a good chance to have without having to hunt (and pay higher prices) of their early material. Their last album “III - Lux Infera” is found usually spinning in my player so you know this is killer.

Mégis mit várhat az ember egy olyan zenekartól, akiknek nyers fordításban annyit tesz a neve, hogy Szentségtelen Karóba Húzás? Főleg ha ez a zenekar északon tanyázik, Finnország békés, barátságos keblén bontogatva szárnyait. Természetesen a névhez kapcsolódó nyers, agresszív, ugyanakkor ugyanolyan primitív és kő egyszerű black metalt amolyan „kinyomom a szemed, mer’ nem tetszik,” felfogásban. Valahogy így tudom elképzelni a Sacrilegious Impalement munkásságát, akik a Satanath leírása szerint az ősi black új reménységei, szerintem meg meglehetősen tucat zenekar ehhez mért hozzáállással.
Jelen kritikám sem egy albumról szól, hanem egy válogatásról, ami megpróbálja feleleveníteni a dicső demós korszakot a nagy múltú zenekarral (2006-ben indultak), tehát szisztematikusan kiragadtak pár dalt a korai anyagaikról és albumnyi hosszban azt a rajongók elé tolták némi krumplicukorka reményében. Egy valódi ritkaságnál egy-egy ilyen lemez igazi kincset érhet, itt viszont alig van olyan tétel, ami ne szerepelt volna a kezdetek óta megjelent 3 nagylemez valamelyikén, vagy ne lenne elérhető a világ bármely szegletében. A válogatás címe legalább ötletes, ugyanis a az albumok előtt egy demó és két EP látott napvilágot, ami az első három szegnek felel meg, ezek után könnyű értelmezni a puritán borítót is. Tehát nem egy ritkaság, föld alá bújtatott rémálom került most a kezeim közé és miután a szomorú tényeket tudomásul vettem, már csak valami jó karcos hangzásban bízhattam. Azonban a hangok sem úgy szólaltak meg, mintha a lejátszó tű a friss őszi szántásokat szelné keresztül, megadva a teljességet a retrót ígérő emeletes hazugságnak, mivel a lemez egész jól szól. Vagy újra felvettek mindent, vagy eredetileg is így voltak a dalok, akkor viszont végképp nem értem… Annyira agyoncsiszolt és steril hangzásról szerencsére azért nem beszélhetünk, a banda nagy erénye végül is a megszólalás, még ha nem is az amit vártam. Nyers és sötét erők helyett inkább élőnek tűnnek a hangok, erőszakosnak és arcba mászónak, ami egy-egy robbanásnál megadja azt a pluszt, amiért érdemes belefülelni a zenekar kiadványába.
A lemezen változatos hosszban, apró hangzásbeli különbségekkel sorakoznak tehát ezek az „ősi”, már tíz éves dalok, amik közül először a Total Annihilation teríti ki nyíltan az asztalra, hogy mire számítsunk. A dal ropogós, menetelős black metal tétel, érthető károgással, ami időnként még változatos is tud lenni. A folytatásban a Holy Terror már képes gyorsabb tempókat produkálni, a gonosz témák pedig szépen kisöprik az agyunkból az atmoszférikus black metal dömping utolsó felidézhető foszlányait, szigorúan a sablonosság keretein belül maradva, természetesen. Az indokolatlanul hosszú, egyébként jól induló Eternal Agonies azonban erre már nem képes, ahogy az én figyelmem is lankadt a dal végére. A zenekar nevéül is szolgáló Sacrilegious Impalement már egy 2007-es EP-ről származik és meglehetősen gyorsabb, ügyesebb az első három dalnál. A sötétség itt már nem csak söpröget az agyunkban, hanem szőnyegbombázást hajt végre több tonnányi szurokkal teli hordóval. A lemez talán leghatásosabb dala. A visszafogottabb Infinite Darkness sajnos még a hörgések ellenére is azt a megérzésemet kezdte erősíteni, hogy a zenekar időnként képes villanni, majd beletemetkezik a múltidézésbe és a lerágott csontok újbóli ízlelgetésébe. A több, mint hat perces Prophet Of Misanthropy ennek megfelelően képes ismét magasabbra helyezni a lécet és kellő sötétségbe borítani az elmét, utána viszont megint meghallgathatjuk az Eternal Agoniest kissé kevésbé kásás minőségben. A lemezt a World In Ashes és Behead The Infants Of God zárja, amik már modernem hangvételben szólalnak meg, de a maguk korlátai között mindkettő kellemes darab.
Nem pótol égbe kiáltó hiányt a lemez és legkevésbé sem próbálkozik bármivel, amit ne hallhattunk volna már nagyon sokszor a metal immár hosszadalmasnak mondható története alatt és válogatás címszóval amúgy sem tekinthető teljes értékűnek a First Three Nails, de bőven hallgatható, időnként pedig kifejezetten élvezhető.

Des séances de rattrapage, dans le BM UG, tu n’en as pas beaucoup. Alors, lorsqu’on t’en propose une, tu ferais bien d’être attentif et d’arrêter ton bavardage de fond de classe. Surtout quand on fait l’effort de revenir sur un groupe au succès mi-poire, mi-calva et qui aurait pourtant mérité mieux. First Three Nails est une compilation (limitée à 500 copies…) qui regroupe la demo de 2006 et les deux premiers EP (Sacrilegious Impalement en 2007 et World in Ashes en 2008) du groupe. Car, comme tu n’es pas trop con, c’est bien en effet de Sacrilegious Impalement que je vais te causer.
J’aime bien ce groupe finlandais (comme presque tous les groupes de BM et de death venant de ce pays miracle). Il ne révolutionne rien mais ses deux EP notamment m’étaient apparus sincères et bien construits, sauvages et instinctifs à l’heure du BM calculé et archi calibré. Cette compilation permet de revenir sur ces beaux engins, dans une version remastered qui ne gâte pas la crasse originale. Et avec un packaging à faire peur aux trve.
La demo ne réserve aucune surprise. Point d’ambiance ici mais un BM brutal, rapide, sauvage, dopé par un son chaud et sale, un poil étouffé, qui convient bien aux propos du groupe. "Total Annihilation" et "Holy Terror" frappent au (bas) ventre et font le boulot. On notera que la batterie sort un poil renforcée de ce toilettage, qui sonne plus lourde et profonde qu’à l’origine, plus brutale aussi. D’ailleurs, et c’est un paradoxe qui m’est apparu assez rapidement, la musique du groupe sonne davantage suédois que finlandais. Mais peu importe, la dynamique, dès la demo, y est déjà excellente. Dès "Eternal Agonies" toutefois, on ressent déjà une volonté de ralentir la cadence et de proposer une alternance brutalité / ponts ambiancés plus proche de la scène finlandaise traditionnelle.
Sacrilegious Impalement, le premier EP de 2007, m’avait bien plu à l’époque. D’entrée, le son y est nettement plus harsh tout en étant paradoxalement plus accessible, la musique a gagné en vitesse et en puissance. Sacrilegious Impalement investit clairement le champ de la dévastation davantage que celui de l’apaisement. Les ralentissements ne sont cependant pas en reste ("Sacrilegious Impalement", le premier morceau repose sur cette alternance entrevue à la fin de la demo ; idem pour "Infinite Darkness"). La batterie a également pris du volume ; elle imprime une dynamique dévastatrice aux morceaux, guide la marche et donne une épaisseur appréciable aux titres les plus « lents ». "Prophet of Misanthropy" rappelle quant à lui plutôt Ofermod ou Funeral Mist dans cette volonté d’assouplir le blast par des lead plus étirés ou des rythmiques plus variées. Mais dans l’ensemble ce premier EP est, pour ma part, le plus réussi.
World in Ashes, le EP de 2008 qui comprend seulement deux titres, poursuit l’effort entamé sur les deux premières sorties du groupe à ceci près que le son est plus harsh, moins organique et, du coup, plus régressif. C’est sans doute infime mais tout de même. Quant à "Behead the Infants of God", le groove et le touché ultra rock y apportent une coloration sympa, qui tranche dans la discographie du groupe. Le feeling très rock n’ roll donne une dimension à la fois très organique au morceau mais également relativement brutale.
Cette compilation est intéressante pour tous ceux qui n’auraient pas mis la main sur ces trois premiers efforts du groupe. Il retrace avec précision les débuts d’un groupe par trop méconnu dont la première qualité est sans doute la sincérité. A découvrir ou à redécouvrir.

Аскетизм Black Metal’a во всей своей красе. Готический шрифт, Бафомет и корпспэйнт – базовый набор без гламурных прикрас. Несвятая троица, поставленная во главу угла, определила идею релиза: компиляция первых трёх демо - три секции буклета - три лэйбла-соиздателя... Всё вместе – «Три Первых Гвоздя», забитых усердно и основательно.
Монохромность формы в полной мере отображает чёрно-белое содержание. Музыка SACRILEGIOUS IMPALEMENT - это несущаяся без остановки бронедрезина, обшитая ржавыми гитарными риффами; неумолкающий пулемёт барабанов и самозабвенная вокальная пропаганда тотальной аннигиляции «всех-кто-не-с-нами». Очередной эпизод «войны», зачинщики которой канули в небытие, а толпа новобранцев уходит далеко за горизонт. И давно уже не важно, что это: бесконечная вендетта или череда провокаций. Противники системы создали свою собственную, функционирующую столь же безотказно и карающую столь же неумолимо. Все музыкально-визуальные составляющие давно известны и чётко регламентированы. Шаг вправо, шаг влево – и вот ты уже предатель-позёр.
Таким образом, налицо ещё один фрагмент Чёрного Искусства. Абсолютно органичный в фонотеке ценителей жанра и, в то же время, дублирующий множество себе подобных. Выстрел, определённо, не холостой, однако и не смертельный. SACRILEGIOUS IMPALEMENT – это ещё один диверсионный отряд в тылу клерикалов, гибели которого, впрочем, никто не заметит

Ovaj finski black metal bend je 2015. objavio kompilaciju koja sadrži 9 numera sa nekoliko starijih izdanja: Demo 2006, Sacrilegious Impalement EP iz 2007. i World in Ashes iz 2008. godine. Mešavina pesama na kompilaciji su čista blasfemija! Klasična režeća rifaža, doboš i blastovi kuju eksere svakim udarcem žustriji sa grubljim scream-ovima. Stvari se toliko razlikuju da se ponekad zapitah i proverih slušam li još uvek isti bend.
