Throughout the 90’s and early 2000’s, an underground metal scene was emerging in the Russian territory of Perm Krai. Leading the charge was Grenouer, who created an annual festival – Death Panorama, a showcase of regional extreme acts including Mortem, Necrocannibal, etc.
Over the years, Grenouer‘s death metal roots shifted to a more alternative style and the festival went dormant. In an effort to revive the group’s original sound and bring back the fest, Grenouer Inc. was created – holding current and former members of Grenouer and raising the Death Panorama festival flag back to the sky.
Packing the Michurin Club venue in Perm, a frenzied crowd chants, beckoning Grenouer Inc. to take the stage. The band opened with the death-thrash-infused “Sex Optica” before following with a vicious rendition of “The Time Spool.” While as heavy as Carcass, the recording and performance on this live album is remarkably clean and tight.
By far, the most compelling moment of Death Panorama Live is… a cover of the 80’s synth-pop hit “Take on Me” by Norwegian new wave band A-ha.
We’re honored to be presenting an exclusive premiere of the live album prior to the official release – grab a CD copy of Death Panorama Live via the Moldovan label Symbol Of Domination.
